Gambino family mob boss “Frank Cali” gunned down in Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, New York — For the first time in three decades, a mob boss is killed in the streets of New York City. Also known as “FrankCali”, Francesco Cali, 53, of 25 Hilltop Terrace, Staten Island was having dinner with his children and wife when he stepped outside and then was shot multiple times in the torso and chest at approximately 9:17PM last night.

According to his wife, he was called outside and a driver of a blue pick up truck fired multiple rounds and run him over. He was taken to Northwell’s Staten Island University Hospital as a level one trauma with severe blood loss and there he was pronounced dead. The NYPD is interviewing possible witnesses and tracking down the driver. Historically, the Gambino crime family was once the leaders in organized crime lost its reach when federal prosecutors sent all the crime bosses to jail in the 1980s and 1990s.

The homicide of boss Frank is still under investigation by the NYPD.

Anthony Comello, 24, was arrested near a motel in New Jersey. The multi-agency task force included the FBI, the NYPD detectives Unit, NJ State Troopers, US Marshalls, NYS Court Officers and the Department of Corrections. The agencies were tasked to keep the mob killer from being executed. Joseph “C” as he wants to be called says, “he’s a dead man walking, if you kill a monster you’ll likely to be dead, too”. Another man also said, “they will find him in jail and kick his ass”.

No official word from officials when the trial for the murder of “FrankCali” will be.
