WASHINGTON — Supporters and opponents to the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the US Supreme Court demonstrated outside the seat of the court and the US Senate in Washington DC on Wednesday.
For the third day running, the rival demonstrators were seen chanting and holding banners defending their respective cause, as the third day of Coney Barrett’s confirmation hearings continued in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee. A small group of pro-Barrett supporters held signs and chanted in front of the Supreme Court building. Displaying a giant banner on the Supreme court ground that read “Let the People Decide,” opponents of her nomination moved around the building chanting and carrying signs. The last day of hearings will be on Thursday and activists from both sides have announced plans for further demonstrations.
