Philadelphia – Protesters are expected to take to the streets of Philadelphia on Tuesday, October 27, following the shooting of a Black man by police. 27-year-old Walter Wallace Jr. was shot as officers responded to a report of a person with a weapon in the Cobbs Creek neighborhood. Wallace was allegedly armed with a knife. According to the officers, he was shot several times when he advanced towards them. The man’s father said that his son was on medication as he struggled with mental health issues. Riots erupted in the city following the incident, leading to looting and vandalizing of several stores and one restaurant. Some 30 officers were injured and dozens of protesters were arrested, according to reports.
